Position Summary

The Department of Biology at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track position in the area of Plant Physiology. Applicants must have a whole organism emphasis, and expertise in at least one of the following areas: abiotic/biotic stresses, ecophysiology, reproduction/development, energetics, climate change, or natural products. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is a nine-month appointment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities will include courses in our lower-division biology core, and upper-division/graduate courses (such as Plant Ecophysiology) that augment our current programs. Applications are sought from outstanding individuals who value quality teaching and are dedicated to developing an active research program involving both undergraduate and Master’s level students.

The formal education of a doctorate or terminal degree required.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

Postdoctoral experience is preferred.

Founded in 1907, UCA has an enrollment of approximately 11,500, of which more than 1,800 are graduate students. The university offers 91 undergraduate and 59 graduate certificate and degree programs, including seven doctoral programs. The student body consistently scores above the national average on the ACT exam. UCA is proud of its tradition of teaching excellence and its contributions in scholarship and creative activities.
